Act NOW to Stop The Wind Farm Folly

Wind farms are going to be an election issue in 2015. Recent reports that David Cameron could make an election pledge to get rid of wind farms and then reports saying that Nick Clegg had blocked an earlier move to stop building more onshore wind farms, illustrates a rift in understanding and an uncaring attitude towards rural communities by some politicians.

In This Campaign We Want You To Write To:

  • David Cameron, offering full support for an end to building onshore wind farms in locations where
they are not wanted by local people.
  • Nick Clegg, telling him about the level of discontent that wind farms create in rural communities.
  • Ed Millband, asking if he still believes it to be socially unacceptable for people to object to wind farms.
  • Your MP, asking him to call for an end to building onshore wind farms where you live.

Consider The Scale Of The Wind Farm Folly:
  • Wind farms are paid twice as much for electricity as other generators such as gas, coal and nuclear.
  • We continue to build more wind farms even when we do not need them to achieve targets for renewable energy generation.

The Folly Needs To Be Stopped; we must limit the spread of turbines across the countryside before we inflict more harm on our landscapes and bring misery to more rural communities.
Make Your Views Known Now – we don’t want any more onshore wind farms and we cannot afford to sacrifice anymore of our countryside on such an expensive folly.
